OK, welcome back to a brand new season, 2007-08. We are hoping it is going to be a good one. It will definitely be an interesting one.
Our first game was against AGSA (Accrington Stanley) at their ground. A bit strange playing somewhere different, but quite exciting.
This game started off in an unexpected fashion with us going a goal down within a couple of minutes. All the girls seemed a little lost on that full sized pitch, and with full sized goals to defend also it was a shock to the system.
Accrington Stanley continued to pressure us and within another 15 minutes had increased their score to 2-0. Not great, and the girls were still looking very unsure.
The last 10 minutes of the 1st half saw our girls start to find their feet, and with a couple of good moves, we could see an improvement in their confidence. Half time and time for a team talk.
2nd half and what a difference. It was a completely different team out there. They were passing and creating chances and it wasn't long before we hit the back of the net. There was 2 great goals from Emily, another 2 from Megan F and a one from Liv Smith. The 2nd half was fantastic and the Warriors showed some great team work to make everyone proud. A great start to the season girls.
Opposition vote went to Jenny Todd and our managers choice went to Megan Fielding. But we have to say there was some great perfomances from everyone in that 2nd half which made all the difference. Well done again.
