Finishing 4th in the league has been a great result for the girls. However a downside of this is that our final 3 games are against all the teams who finished above us, and the facts show that we have struggled in our games with Unicorn losing 1-9 and 1-8. So on paper this appeared to be a very one sided game with 1 team winning convincingly. And so it proved to be, but not in the way you might think!
With all 9 girls present, Isa did the goalkeeping duties in the first half. An early corner for us broke to Shauna on the edge of the area and she calmly scored her first goal of the season. They equalised but Emily, always willing to shoot, fired in a long range shot and we were back in the lead.
The game continued with tough tackling and Lauren, Carly and Rebecca all got knocks, but they got up and carried on.
The second half saw Rebecca in goal, and we got off to a great start. Emily and Lauren work really well together and their passing and running was superb. Lauren made it 3-1 and we continued to press for more. In defence Shauna and Chloe were as strong as ever, and the midfield combinations of Isa, Anna, Carly and Zoe all worked really well.
It was reward for their hard work when more goals came our way. In the end Emily scored 5 and Lauren 2 and the final score was 8-1.
This was our best performance of the season and all the girls played really well. It was great for us all to see them play so well against a top team and all 9 of them deserve praise. Unicorn gave player of the match to Emily and I gave mine to Shauna, but really both these awards should be shared by the whole team. Well done girls, same again in 2 weeks!

What an absolutly fantastic result. You all deserve a great big pat on the back.
No need to fear the other two teams now.
Well done.
