After some hard work from Paul and Dave and our parents in getting the ground and nets ready for this match we were finally ready for our first home match. Thanks Vikki and Sarah for cleaning the toilet block!!
Our visitors were Lytham YMCA who won this league last season.
For the first twenty minutes we looked the more experienced team and at times had them
Pinned into their own half. Shots from Amy and Jenny were well saved. We were also still getting used to the off side rule which prevented us from taking an early lead.
Towards the end of the first half a well organised Lytham managed to break through our defence to strike with two quick goals.
During the second half our Warriors fought hard to pull a goal back with good efforts from Megan F and Emily. The team seemed to be getting used to 11 a side and retained good shape and positioning.
Towards the end of the match Lytham broke again to make it 3 – 0 but this didn’t reflect the true story. Our Warriors are more than capable of beating this team and when we play them again after Christmas and will more experience at 11 a side, I am sure we will see a different game.
Well done girls. Wilpshire nx week at home. Big win eh!!!!
