A local derby for the Wanderers this week, with a game against another Bury team. The last time we played Walshaw was in November in a league cup game, we won 5-0.
This game was played in very windy conditions, and after finding a pitch that wasn't waterlogged, we eventually kicked off. The first half was fairly slow, with the wind in front of us, we managed to get 2 goals in with the help of Izzie and a fantastic goal from Jenny, I think everyones mouths fell open at that one.
Second half and a few tweaks to the team, a quick explanation of the game plan, the Wanderers pulled up their socks and got stuck in. 2 more goals from Jenny, which could have easily have been more, plus I think the neighbours were starting to worry about their windows across the road, Jenny was really hammering them home, plus a few near misses. Another from Ell and that made 5.
A good all round team performance from everyone today. My girl of the game went to Ell who worked hard all game, and the opposition vote went to Jenny who was on fire today.
