With both Becks (Ankle) and Amy (Party) missing, our Wanderers were up for a full hours football without any subs. By the end of the game however, it was Deans who were glad to hear the final whistle.
Our well organised Wanderers took Deans apart. Goals from Jenny and Beth in the first half set up a second half exhibition match.
Frankie and Megan were superb, passing the ball around in style. Beth slammed a shot into the top corner to make it 3. Pressure from our Wanderers resulted in a shot from Jenny being deflected to make it 4. Frankie claimed it (Even though she was 100 yards away!!!).
Beth quickly fired another two goals to make her hattrick. Leah was on top form and hit a long distance shot to make it 7.
Then came a goal that was applauded from both sets of parents and managers. Jenny outpaced two players down the left side, brought the ball backwards with the outside of her right foot and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top of the goal from distance.
I would like to say I taught her how to shoot like that but it was just natural talent.
To finish off another own goal to make it 9. Frankie also claimed this also!!!
Opposition player of the match went to Beth who drove her team on relentlessly like a true captain. I gave my Managers award to Frankie for her sheer cheek of claiming two own goals. Only kidding. She played brilliantly in goal, defence and in attack.
Well done girls.
