Surprisingly, this was our first against this team considering we are at the end of January. We started the brighter and Emily and Lauren were creating chances from early in the game. However both were not having any luck in finding the goal. Isa had volunteered to go in goal for the first half, and although she did not have much to do when called upon she produced a brave save.
With Carly in goal in the second half, the match again went the way of the first half with our forwards making all the chances. Both Emily and Lauren struggled to hit the target, and when they did their goalie was on form and managed to make good saves. Carly saved well when called upon and Shauna was also on top form against a good and fast forward.
So after an hours play the game ended with no goals, 0-0. An unusual score for this league but a great game to watch and I’m sure a great game for the girls to play in too.
They gave the player of the match award to Emily, and although a difficult choice I gave the award to Shauna.
